Designer Michael Gericke has been a partner of Pentagram since 1986. He has produced work for the American Institute of Architects, the New York Jets, the Lincoln Center 50 year anniversary, the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals and the U.S. bid for the World Cup in 2018 and in 2022. More recently, Michael Gericke acted as art director for Tishman Speyer’s advertising campaign for Rockefeller Center.
Initiated by Robert V. Tishman and Jerry I. Speyer in 1978, Tishman Speyer, expert real estate agency, has developed over 355 projects and currently owns multiple renowned landmarks. One of their properties, Rockefeller Center, has been under Tishman Speyer ownership for 12 years. In order to emphasize the view from the 70-story skyscraper, aka from the “Top of the Rock,” Michael Gericke and his design team at Pentagram produced a bold advertising campaign for the building.
The campaign will last for about a year, with advertisements appearing on websites, digital kiosks and buses all throughout New York. We are pleased that Pentagram has submitted the account to our Advertising Annual 2014 competition.
The competition features the most compelling and influential advertising work of the year. Prizes consist of gold and platinum awards, with winning entries published in the Advertising Annual 2014.
Pentagram has been a consistent winner of Graphis’ advertising annual competitions. In the Advertising Annual 2013 competition, the agency won a gold award for their previous work with Rockefeller Center, entry title “Rockefeller Center Restaurant Days”.
