Richard Hess has had an illustrious career that started with a desire to become a full-time painter. For practical reasons, he became an Art Director, but eventually took on the job of painting for his own assignments. After receiving attention for his art, he later painted fourteen Time magazine covers and continued to hone in on his craft.
Hess is quite an inspiration to both the Art/Illustration and Design worlds. His legacy continues, as his son, Mark Hess is also a Graphis Master, and has had quite the career as an illustrator himself. In fact, they even worked together many times! Talent runs deep in the Hess family, and we are honored to share it with you.
