Since July 2, 2016, The Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA has been exhibiting one of the most renowned works created by Kit Hinrichs of Studio Hinrichs in San Francisco, California. The 3,500 ft. exhibition features American flags and flag memorabilia, all of which come from Hinrichs’ vast collection of 5,000 pieces from his book Long May She Wave: A Graphic History of the American Flag. See below for more.
Presented in the exhibition, which was designed by Studio Hinrichs and the Stars & Stripes Foundation, are “historic flags, weather vanes, quilts, Native American weavings, flag bearer toy soldiers, World War I and World War II propaganda posters, plus hundreds of other objects that incorporate the flag into their design.”
The exhibition runs until November 6th, 2016. For more information and to see more of Studio Hinrichs’ work, visit www.studio-hinrichs.com.
