David Chandi, a founding partner of the agency Groupo daDá, has had over 15 years of experience in photography and advertising. He has done work for corporate clients such as Coca-Cola, Herbalife, and Groupo La Favorita. He has also done many projects in the political sphere in his country of Ecuador, including government branding. He has taken on social issues within the country as well. One of his most well-known campaigns is the “All You Need is Ecuador Campaign” (above), which won Platinum in the Advertising Annual 2016.
Ecuador is a country rich in biodiversity, and multiculturalism. All You Need is Ecuador was a promotional campaign to position Ecuador as an attractive tourist location by using marine life as a unique way to characterize the beautiful landscape of Ecuador. Chandi has had a hand in many social awareness campaigns that shed light on poverty, environmental issues, and racism.
David Chandi has also created logos for other companies such as the ones above. Each logo is simplistic with bright and colorful designs. These logos were among his work presented in his feature for Graphis Journal #358.
It’s the impact that much of his work for Ecuador has had on people that makes him and his campaigns so brilliant. Designers and advertisers such as Dave Roberts of Greenhaus have pinpointed daDá’s campaigns for Ecuador to be the reason they want to visit. Groupo daDá’s clear and unyielding stance on issues of poverty and racism have influenced communities that he’s targeted, and even people who don’t live in Ecuador are able to relate to the issues.
