Four artists present posters for the Protest Posters 2 with unique designs that challenge our ever-shifting society, each calling upon similar themes of humanity and resistance to ignorance.
Artist Rick Simner features a series of four minimalistic posters, in “Help Fight Covid-19” (above, left) each taking famous name-brand cleaning products and turning them into messages of awareness. Simner rebrands products such as Lysol, Clorox, Kleenex, and Brawny to promote spreading facts and kindness rather than fear and hate during this global pandemic. By using cleaning products that have been high in demand since the beginning of the pandemic, Simner reminds us that what is needed most in these trying times is humanity and consideration.
Graphis Master Kit Hinrichs of Studio Hinrichs designs a poster for the AGI congress in Switzerland called “Coexistence,” using the image of a toy monster and robot to represent different nationalities of people. The stark differences between each representation suggest a tongue-in-cheek tone to the poster’s words, ‘Can’t we just be friends.’
