For our latest venture, Graphis is proud to present the official launch of our Kickstarter campaign for multi-award winning digital photographer Terry Heffernan and his newest collection of work “American Icons.”
Splitting his time between San Francisco and Montana, Terry Heffernan has produced award-winning photographs for national ad campaigns, corporate annual reports, and prestigious publications. Having created interpretative photographs of collections in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the Peabody Museum, and the American Museum of Fly Fishing, Heffernan continues to expand his ongoing museum collection series.
“American Icons” celebrates more than four decades of his work for world-renowned institutions. The book serves as a visual exploration on what it means to be an American. Heffernan has spent his entire career propelling Americana values and traditions through photography and film. With this book, his passions are delivered in a larger than life format for fellow photographers and new viewers alike. The book also includes notable quotes by legends and luminaries that accompany Heffernan’s shots.
Based in New York and San Francisco, Kit Hinrichs serves as the graphic designer of “American Icons.” After spending 23 years as a partner at Pentagram, he opened Studio Hinrichs in 2009. His award-winning design experience includes brand development, packaging, environmental graphics, editorial and exhibition design.
Delphine Hirasuna serves as the co-author and editor of “American Icons.” She is the editor of the highly-acclaimed @Issue: Journal of Business and Design. She has also won numerous national and international rewards for corporate and design-related writing. With Hinrichs, she co-authored the books “TypeWise” and “Long May She Wave.”
