Photography Annual 2016 Spotlight Submission: Japan

Yagi Studio, based in Japan, created “Hyper Realism” and “Black Light,” two pieces from their two different series. “Hyper Realism” is an image from their series in the food and beverage category, while “Black Light” is from their still life series.

Other photography submissions from Japan include Hiroshi Watanabe’s series “Small World” (image lower left), an abstract shot of people formed into the shape of a hand from above, as well as Masahisa Iketani’s “Hercules and the Lily” (image lower right), a portrait of a withered man embracing a flower that is just as withered.

The Graphis Photography Competition features some of the most compelling and influential design of the year from across the world. Gold and Platinum awards, along with winning entries, will be published in the Photography Annual 2016
