The latest entry for the Photography Annual 2020 comes from photographer Nicolo Sertorio, originally from Italy and now based in California. In his seven-part series, entitled “Decay” (above), Sertorio experiments with the use of light and color to convey the somber feeling of contemporary social issues. With subjects of diverse ages staged in tableaus of various relationships and families, Sertorio’s images remind us that decay is universal.
Photographer Terry Vine from Texas wins Silver for his entry in the Photography Annual 2019. Entitled “Swimmer” (above), the image is part of a larger photo series to advertise The Preserve, a new fitness facility in Uptown Houston. In this particular image, Vine captures his subject in linear motion to promote the nature of well-being.
