Photo: Christopher Wilson’s New Entries Contain Purposeful Narratives

There are rich stories behind each of Graphis Master Christopher Wilson’s shots. We were excited to see his new entries for the Photography Annual 2019 competition.

Christopher Wilson’s photography is stunning and relates a story with passion and precision. Recently, this beloved Graphis Master submitted inspiring new work to the Photography Annual 2019 competition. “Amor Da Terra(ABOVE), which means “Love of the Earth” in Portuguese, was shot for a Brazilian jewelry company of the same name. Wilson explained, “To compliment [the jewelry], I looked to the body paintings of the tribes along the Omo Valley in Ethiopia for inspiration.” The lighting showcases the strong color of the necklace and creates a near-silhouette for the body-painted model.

Another recent submission by Wilson, “Beautiful Frankenstein,” (ABOVE) features an automobile that was created using fuel tanks from World War II fighter planes. With an unusual compilation of parts, his reference to Frankenstein is quite apropos. The placement of the car along the horizon line and the vastness of the sky above creates a clean, calm image. This ultimately highlights the actions of the driver and the body of the vehicle. This photo belongs to a collection of images he shot during Speed Week and was featured in Road & Track Magazine.
We’re excited to see more entries come in as we approach the competition’s deadline!
