Last year the Photography 2020 Awards gave us some of the best photography from top photographers in the industry around the world. U.S Photographers, Craig Cutler, and Cameron Davidson were among the top winners.
Graphis Master Craig Cutler took a textural, airy approach to his California “flower study” (above). This 4-part Platinum-winning series included photos of four different flowers from the Los Angeles Flower Market and is representative of Cutler’s ever-present foundation of conceptual thinking in all of his projects. It is his ability to compose unique and eye-arresting conceptual ideas that led Cutler to be a 5-time Platinum winner in our Photography Annuals.
Giving us a shot of an underappreciated landscape is Cameron Davidson’s entry, “Dunes #1” (above). This Gold award-winning photograph captured two of Davidson’s favorite things: aerial, and location photography. Taken in the dunes of southern California as a personal project, Davidson set out to capture unique lighting and graphic angles. His aerial photography has showcased the natural beauty of cities, towns, beaches, for corporate and editorial clients.
Both these entries show us the various wonders that can be found in California.
