Based in NYC and Brazil, Athena Azevedo is a photographer, art director, producer, and curator. At the age of eight, she first discovered her passion for photography while shooting with her grandma’s autofocus point and shoot camera. Despite pursuing cinema at first, Azevedo went on to study photography at UC Berkeley, where she studied with photographers Janet Delaney and Ken Light, and the feminist Vietnamese filmmaker, Trinh T. Minh-Ha.

In 2013, Azevedo started working with award-winning Graphis Master design duo, Toshiaki and Hisa Ide, at IF Studio. As the in-house photographer at IF Studio, her work has garnered international attention and has received 63 awards since 2014, in collaboration with Toshiaki and Hisa Ide.
