Grandson of the founder of Porsche and son of the man who started making Porsche sports cars, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche continues the legacy of a luxury car company created in Germany, upholding the highest standards of quality and design. In 1972, Ferdinand A. Porsche founded the Porsche Design Studio, moving it two years later to Zell am See, Austria. In the years that followed the move, he designed a multitude of lifestyle products and stylish menswear accessories, including wristwatches, glasses, pens, and much more.
Porsche Design watches, in particular, have been available worldwide for more than 40 years. The latest watches remind longtime customers of the two most successful original models, the Chronograph I and the Titan Chronograph. The Porsche Design Watch series feature distinct characteristics with low-reflection display through a matte black dial, and the material titanium, derived from racing for extreme lightness. A concept model for the Porsche Design Watch is featured (above, left).
The main image also includes the rare Porsche Design vintage model of sport-shades from 1995 (above, right). It served as a concept model for the Porsche Design by Carrera 5692 F 0.9 Glasses, reminiscent of ’80s design. Known for being high-performance sport-shades, the glasses compliment the classic car design of the Porsche 904 Carrera.
During the 1960s, most of the Porsche racing cars and sports cars were Ferdinand A. Porsche designs, including the 1963 Porsche 904 Carrera and the legendary 1964 Porsche 911. A concept model for the Porsche 904 Carrera is featured above. Check out more of Porsche’s iconic designs and new models HERE.
