Alvaro Perez is a graphic designer from Spain with over twenty years of experience in logo design. In the year 2000, Perez founded El Paso Galería de Comunicación, a design studio in Madrid. Many of his projects are for medical clinics, personal branding, and various businesses such as Mr. Think, The Attic Labs, Delgado, and more. He specializes in developing unique brand identities for each client, focusing on strong concepts, simplicity, and strategic thinking.
Presented below is a logo he created for Mascompany, a veterinary service in Madrid. The design is very straightforward; it depicts a heart with the name of the company underneath. But because of the darker lines in the middle, it can also be seen as a dog nose. This logo and more of his work are featured in Graphis Journal #364.
He has also been exhibited and published around the world, and has won numerous awards, including Gold in the Graphis Design Annual 2019. He was awarded by the Chicago Athenaeum Collection Good Design Awards in 2008 for excellence in Design, Graphics, and Packaging.
Perez believes in simplicity over complexity, that good design accomplishes the most when you can tell a company’s story as simply as possible. With his distinctive logos, he shows that a small design studio with only a few people is capable of making remarkable work for big clients.
