Design Firm: Karousel, karlssonwilker| Client: Saga Kakala
In 2013, Icelandic actress and entrepreneur, ngibjörg Gréta Gísladóttir, founded the brand Saga Kakala, a line of colorful silk and cashmere scarves that visually portray ancient nordic mythology. After hiring design and communications firm Karousel, in collaboration with New York design studio karlssonwilker inc., to manage her brand, the result was nothing short of extraordinary. Saga Kakala’s Brand was a sleek, playful addition to the Graphis Design Annual 2016 competition.
“We like the contrast between hard and soft, geometric shapes and the naturally soft and delicate silk,” says Hjalti with a smile and wraps one of the scarves around him. “I am really pleased with how they have turned out, I just might wear this one myself.”
Karousel is a a design firm in Iceland, that specializes in branding, identity and design. As a new Graphis contributor, they also submitted the Saga Kakala Logo, a sleek, identifiable logo for the clothing line.
