New Entries in Packaging 10 Are Crafted With Minimalism and Boldness In Mind

Designers Tiger Pan and Meitao Ye, under Shenzhen Tigerpan Packaging Design Co., Ltd., were tasked with creating the packaging for Luckin Coffee (Beijing) Co., a quickly expanding coffee company with now over 4,000 stores operating in China. Similarly, designer Matthew Clark, from Subplot Design Inc., designed the bold new packaging for Petcurean Pet Nutrition.

Luckin Coffee is the biggest coffee brand in China. Pan and Ye’s design (above), “Luckin Drip Coffee,” artfully tells a story about where the coffee came from around the world. Utilizing a minimalist style, the packaging features different pops of color on predominately black and white boxes to distinguish between the 10 different coffee flavors Luckin sells. Luckin’s mission to be a part of everyone’s everyday life is emphasized by Pan and Ye’s connective storytelling.

Headquartered in Canada, Petcurean Pet Nutrition creates quality food for cats and dogs. They celebrated their 20th anniversary this year by hiring Clark to bring a new style to its relaunch of GO! SOLUTIONS wet food product. Clark’s packaging design (above), “GO! SOLUTIONS Packaging System Refresh,” takes a simple black background and juxtaposes it with bold images, giving a new spin to Petcurean’s usual packaging. Similarly, Clark tastefully highlights an icon panel with bright colors to specify what ingredients make up each of Petcurean’s ‘solutions’.

There’s still time to submit your packaging entries! The Packaging 10 competition will accept submissions until December 1, 2020.
