Branding: Lizá Ramalho, Artur Rebelo & more from Portugal

The design above was entered to our current Branding7 competition by Designers Lizá Ramalho & Artur Rebelo of R2 in Porto, Portugal. R2  created the branding design because “the new management team of National Theatre Dona Maria II had the vision of a new cultural project and was in need of graphic communication strategy that could reflect the new openness policy, mainly because the previous logo, designed more than 25 years ago, was based on the building façade.”

The essence of R2’s work lies in a dynamic creative process in which both designers equally engage from the initial stages through to the execution of a project. This complementary dialogue draws on thoughtful research and experimentation surrounding a given content for an ultimately concept-driven approach that lends form to a final product in which typography plays a fundamental role.

Creative Director Laura Moreira and Art Director Frederico Pompeu of Super. Brand Consultants in Aveiro, Portugal entered the above branding campaign to our current Branding7 competition. Created for client UNO, the brand seeks to “To create a brand whose communication would simplify the complexity of the business and its related topics: big data, machine learning, AI, cyber security, forecasting, etc.. Develop a brand that would communicate effectively across all organizational levels of a company, from top management to operational actors.”
A description of what they do for their clients as a brand consultancy: We create solutions with meaning. We work collaboratively with our clients, launching, relaunching and managing their brands. We define strategies, and create verbal and visual identities in a way traditional design agencies and studios don’t. We turn visions and ambitions into creative actions, crafted across every touch-point.
We focus on substance, not just aesthetics. We chase brand relevance, coherence and ultimately business impact for our clients.
