Lightening Collar

Ramon Vaquero

Wow. The above photograph, titled “Lightening Collar,” featuring model Mame Sokhna, is part of a personal series by Ramon Vaquero. Vaquero specializes in art, beauty, advertising, commercial and social photography. Primarily based in Vigo, Spain, Vaquero has acquired a global fan-base, allowing him to become an award-winning photographer.

His work has been featured in a variety of publications from all over the world, including Indonesia Art Photography, One Eyeland Book- Vol. 1, Trierenberg Super Circuit, World Fishing Exhibition in 2003 and 2009, and Nikon Pro. In addition, his work is prominent in foreign magazines, such as El Mueble, Interiores, Photo, the French edition, and Superfoto Practica.

This year, he won a bronze medal from Treierenberg Super Circuit, an international photography competition. However, this was not his first award from the organization. Vaquero previously won gold medals from Treierenberg Super Circuit in 2010, 2008, 2005 and 2006. Some of his other prestigious awards include a silver medal from the Photographic Society of America in 2010 and a gold medal from Austrian Super Circuit in 2003.

Over the course of his career, Ramon Vaquero has had a series of international exhibitions, traveling to Austria in 2012 for an exhibition with Trierenberg Super Circuit, to Granada in 2011 for the Al-Andaluz Photo Festival and to Murcia in 2012 for the Festival Fotogenio.
