Beth Galton is an expert still life and food photographer, capturing the intricate details of every object and embodying the tastes and textures of delicious meals.
Based in New York, Galton started exploring the relationship between food, fine art and photography after graduating college. Her stepmom, an amazing chef, helped her realize how visual food could be. Galton’s focus on the elementary colors, shapes, hints of movement and patterns of her edible medium make the work unique. Now she produces images for editorial magazines, design firms and companies such as Chipotle, Campbell’s, Lays, Betty Crocker, McDonald’s, Entenmann’s, Godiva, Neutrogena and St. Ives.
For Graphis’ Photography Annual 2014 competition, Beth Galton submitted “Beets”, put together near the end of the day, utilizing the light coming in from the north facing windows in her studio, and aided by a stylist and set designer. The result is sublime.
The Photography Annual 2014 competition features the most compelling and influential photography of the year. Prizes consist of gold and platinum awards, with winning entries published in the Photography Annual 2014.
