Food Photography has become quite popular, even among the masses. Yet, these Gold-winning entries go beyond what most would think of as mouth-watering. For example, Beth Galton’s self-initiated project, “Cena Rosa” (ABOVE), creates a unique tableau with a vintage feel. In collaboration with food stylist Mariana Velazquez, this image paid homage to architect Luis Barragan, proving that Food Photography goes beyond pretty presentations of delicate delicacies.
Photographers SUECH AND BECK won Gold in the Photography Annual 2019 competition for their piece, “Savages” (ABOVE). With Food Stylist Christopher St. Onge at the helm, the vibrant colors and tropical feel mixed with just-eaten fruit really give the imagination something to chew on.
