Jonathan Knowles’ (UK) Otherworldly Images and Athena Azevedo’s (US) Regal Shots Win Platinum!

UK Photographer and Graphis Master Jonathan Knowles blew us away with his work in the Photography Annual 2020. His Platinum-winning entry “The Taste of Time” (above, left) was shot for Luxure Magazine as an editorial photoshoot for Louis XIII Cognac. The images show off the beauty of the packaging and the effect it gives off when light reflects on it.

He also won Platinum for his entry, “Wishing on a Star” (above, right), another gorgeous editorial shoot for Luxure Magazine using Diors latest make-up. The makeup was inspired by the stars, so they used a celestial background and composed the lighting to make it look reminiscent of moonlight. US-based Graphis Master Athena Azevedo is a longtime Platinum and Gold-winning Photographer. She works in-house at IF Studio under Graphis Masters Toshiaki and Hisa Ide. Her above image “50 UNP Pool” won Platinum and was for real estate developers Zackendorf Development to promote the 50 UNP Penthouse in New York. This image showcases the pool in an elegant fashion, but what really sells the feeling of luxury is the wind blowing through the model’s dress. Athena Azevedo perfectly captures the regal atmosphere of this penthouse.
