Kristofer Dan-Bergman – Away
Inspired by a painting of his father, of a woman looking away, Kristofer Dan-Bergman gave the subjects in his studio one instruction: sit down on a bench and look away.
“I direct very little and let the moment happen,” said Dan-Bergman in a commentary that will be featured in this year’s Photography Annual 2014. The result is a series of mysterious images that stand open to interpretation and provoke intrigue within the viewer. It began as an installation in the First Degree project, in which Kristofer invites his friends for a photo shoot each year with a different concept in mind. The series earned a Platinum in our Photography Annual 2014. To check out more work by Kristofer, click here.
Dan-Bergman is among the six Photographers in New York City who won an Platinum award in our Photography Annual 2014.
