The typographic poster above, a new entry to our Typeface Design competition, was designed by Barrett Fry under the art direction of DJ Stout of Pentagram in Austin, TX. It was created to promote their client, Lucy’s Fried Chicken, and their event celebrating “all things Texas, fried chicken and beer.”
The typeface design beside it, titled “Hallucination,” won a Gold Award in Typography3 and was submitted by Instructor Michele Damato and student Micaela Barrero of Art Institute of Houston.
The typeface design on the left is a new entry to our Typeface Design competition, also by Pentagram Austin. It was designed by Jeffrey Wolverton for the 28th installment of client Pecha Kucha Austin. The typographic poster beside it was submitted to our Type in Use competition. Designed by Mark Steele of M Square Design in New Braunfels, Texas, the poster was designed for Austin College to promote “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, is an absurdist, existentialist tragicomedy by Tom Stoppard.”
There isn’t much time left to enter the Typography4: Typeface Design and Type in Use competitions! The deadline is Tuesday, November 7!
