Typography4: Jennifer McCarn & others from Georgia

The deadline for the Typography4: Typeface Design and Type in Use competitions is coming up fast! Above and below are past and new entries from Georgia, USA.

Jennifer McCarn of Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia designed the above poster for her client, Savannah Film Festival/SCAD. The branding design was created with the idea in mind that “with more than 100 events scheduled for the Savannah Film Festival, a sturdy, stylish, and informative guidebook was necessary to help attendees navigate festival offerings.” See below for more work!

Above, Andrew Mabini of Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia designed the bottle packaging above. According to Mabini, “Reina de Reyes is based off the story of La Malinche who conquered the Azteq empire. The brand takes on the characteristics of the woman who was the queen of kings. The label is designed with a blend of cultures between the Spanish and Aztec Indian culture and the feminist power that resembles La Malinche.” The poster on the right was designed by School of Visual Arts (NYC) student Chris Sukovich and Photographer David Salazar under the direction of Professor Bob Newman. The assignment for this student project was to “create a typographic poster that evokes the work of an artist and his/her movement. The artist I chose was Christo, and the movement his work belongs to is Nouveau Réalisme.”
