Design Annual 2015 Submission Spotlight:
Michael Pantuso

PANTUSO IDesigner: Michael Pantuso | Series Title: Mechanical Integration Series

Michael Pantuso

Michael Pantuso was exposed to the art world at an early age. He recalls his father, also a graphic designer, painting an entire room — floors, walls, even a ping pong table — pastel green.

Executive Designer at IDEAS360º, a brand design agency, Mr. Pantuso’s portfolio includes such clients as Disney, Motorola, Merck to Deloitte, as well as Boeing and Bacardi. His award-winning work exemplifies his meticulous eye for detail and broad-ranging design style.

Mr. Pantuso approached the “Mechanical Integration Series,” a recent submission to the Graphis Design Annual 2015, “in such a way to be unencumbered by the influences of plans or pre-conceived outcomes,” he wrote in his Credits & Commentary for the entry. With minimal planning, preliminary sketches, or reference, he says he started with an idea “either inspired or imagined.” His agency work, of course, requires a much different, more organized and disciplined approach.

Mr. Pantuso used Adobe Illustrator CS6 to build each element of the series one at a time, then layered each accordingly. The final result remains unknown as there are no final versions.
