Design Firm: Studio 5 Designs, Inc. (Manila) |

Our most recent Design Annual 2016 competition entrant, Studio 5 Designs, Inc., hails from Manila, Philippines. The colorful imagery of MALACAÑAN PALACE (The Official Illustrated History) and Freundschaft/Pagkakaibigan (60 Years of Friendship between Germany and the Philippines) grace the pages of two separate coffee table books.

“The results of the project were heart-warming,” wrote Studio 5 Designs on their MALACAÑAN PALACE Graphis portfolio. “the Malacañan Place (The Official Illustrated History) became the sole official gift of President Aquino during his 10-day trip to Europe. The boxed version was given to H.M. King Philippe of Belgium, Prime Minster Elio di Rupo of Belgium, H.M. King Felipe IV of Spain, Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy of Spain, President Francois Hollande of France, Prime Minister Manuel Valls of France, Chancellor Angel Merkel of Germany and President Joachim Gaucke of Germany.”

Freundschaft/Pagkakaibigan was also a success, launching in Berlin and in Manila at a 50-year-old German Club to honor German companies located in the Phlippines.

Studio 5 Designs, Inc. is one of the pioneers in the Philippine graphic design industry. Founded in 1979, the agency has evolved into a powerhouse of designers creating top-notch audiovisuals, displays, brochures and annual reports, picking up awards from the Philippine National Advertising Congress, Araw Awards, Anvil Awards and Gold Quill Awards, among others.
